Life Support Camp Infrastructure

A key component in the development of the Iraqi oil fields is the deployment of Life Support Camps – Bases of Operations that provide life support and security for employees in this difficult environment. The camps are needed because physical infrastructure is almost non-existent – and this includes data and voice communications. Cloud Technology provides a broad range of critical communications and security infrastructure for Forward Operating Camps:

  • A typical camp environment requires a complete data and voice communications infrastructure to be built from scratch. However, for green or brown field deployments, advantage can be taken of the latest converged network environment to deliver applications such as VoIP, Video Conferencing, IPTV and Security Systems over a single multi-layered, multi-technology infrastructure. The physical architecture invariably encompasses fibre and copper cabling, fixed and transportable data centres, WiFi, WiMAX and microwave wireless technologies, and high capacity VSAT and fibre backhaul.
  • Security systems are mission critical to Iraq oil field operations. TP is able to leverage the convergence of communications technology with the latest security applications and products to deliver integrated solutions as diverse as video surveillance and access control, ground radar, thermal imaging, PA/GA systems, and ground and air data and voice communications. Our ITAR-registered subsidiary, TP Federal Systems, facilitates the procurement of some of the latest US security technology.

All Cloud Technology oil field deployments are delivered by our unique, highly trained and certified team of in-country ICT engineers. In Iraq, in particular, we have over 40 highly skilled engineers and technicians operating from offices spread across the country. Because this team is composed entirely of Iraqi nationals, they are able to perform many in-field tasks without the personal security protection required by non-indigenous personnel.
